Scion Staffing recognizes that our office, located in the Seattle area resides on the traditional village sites of the Suquamish, Coast Salish, and Duwamish as well as many other tribes who have made their homes next to the body of water known as the Puget Sound and in the area of Seattle, Washington.
Indigenous people of these tribes have tended the land, created tribal communities, and called this area their home for over the past 10,000 years. Washington State is home to 29 federally recognized indigenous tribes and the Seattle area is home to a rich Native historical culture that is still very much felt around the city and the area.
As a company that thrives on, and is committed to a foundation of diversity, equity, and inclusion, it is imperative that we recognize our city of the greater Seattle metro area is home to a community of diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities—past, present, future—and are thankful for their presence to make our city in Washington a beautifully vibrant place.
