Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

About Scion Staffing Seattle

Seattle, Washington, is well known for its ongoing commitment to workplace diversity. As one of the most diverse cities in the country, Seattle’s lively and welcoming culture promotes a climate in which people from various communities and cultural backgrounds can prosper. Seattle’s workforce reflects a vast spectrum of cultures and backgrounds due to its population’s prominent ethnic, racial, and cultural combination.

At Scion, we believe diverse teams are essential to an organization’s success. We are deeply committed to ensuring that every applicant receives fair consideration for each position they apply for. Our hiring process—from application to interview—is thoughtfully designed to be inclusive and supportive of candidates from all backgrounds. Our staff is dedicated to providing intentional recruitment support by being aware of and removing bias throughout our processes and continuing to be an industry leader by sharing best practices with our clients, candidates and internal staff.

Over the past several years, Scion Staffing has implemented strategies to promote fairness and inclusion within our workplace. As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to ongoing improvements that foster an inclusive workforce. Our goal is to create opportunities where individuals of all backgrounds—including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, religion, disability status, gender identity, and socioeconomic background—can access meaningful employment and professional success.

As a leader in the staffing industry, we are committed to delivering the most qualified candidates based on merit, skills, and experience, without regard to protected characteristics. This commitment extends to the exceptional talent and clients we serve, as well as to our internal team, who actively contribute to the success and advancement of our firm.

Scion Staffing Volunteer DEI Committee

Joshua Steele – Chair

I am proud to say that the growth and impact of the Scion Staffing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee is having a multiplier effect on the interest and passion that our team brings to our work and clients. With DEI, there is an inherent, wide spectrum of where peoples’ interest and passion is.

Candice Zemina

Embracing diversity, equity, inclusion, representation, and an overall sense of belonging can significantly change perceptions of the world around you. Letting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging be a part of your approach to others in your personal and professional life creates an environment that people want to be a part of.

Sarah Kurhajetz

There are many benefits of incorporating DEI strategies into the workplace, but for me, the most important is creating a sense of belonging for employees. For employees to do their best work and to expand their professional capacity, it’s critical that they feel a sense of belonging with their colleagues. With a sense of belonging comes a feeling of trust and safety. When trust and safety are present, employees feel comfortable asking for help, taking risks, making mistakes (and learning from them), as well as providing support to their co-workers.
